Just last two weeks ago I went to
Beijing. I randomly meet a girl Chinese
on the street. She are promoting for me
Indian religion. She teach me
Hinduism.
Krishna.
Krishna.
Yeah. Krishna.
Wow. Okay. Okay. So um can I tell you a
little bit about Indian religion?
Hinduism
please. Uh so we call it sanatan dharm
in India.
Yeah.
Okay. Sanatan dharm means eternal faith.
So this was what we believe was there
forever.
Uh and the word Hinduism is given by
Britishers but that’s how the whole
world knows it and it’s fine. Uh so we
believe that there’s actually one god
above everything. Okay. And that god is
called uh parabra or parasa or
paravishnu which means like god.
It’s everywhere. It’s in you. it’s in
me. Energy that connects us all. Um
but the thing is that energy is so
advanced that the human brain is not
able to understand it. So that energy
expresses itself in different forms
but it’s actually the same thing.
Yeah.
So that’s why in Indian culture we have
so many gods.
Yes.
So uh we have three main parts of
Sanatan today. There actually used to be
many more but the main ones in our
country today are Chevism. Okay. Chevism
which is related to Shiva. Have you seen
that god with the cobra on his neck?
Ah yeah yeah yeah.
The snake on his neck.
Yeah yeah yeah.
So that’s shism like
it’s a blue color right?
Yes. Correct.
Ah with a gold crown and he’s like look
like a man standing with a neck long
hair.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I see from the temple.
Yeah. So uh we have that we have
Vishnavism which is related to another
god called Vishnu.
Vishnu
and Krishna is a a part of Vishnu.
Krishna is almost same like Vishnu.
Okay.
Okay. We have a concept of avar which
means that sometimes these Shiva Vishnu
they realize that in the earth there’s
too much evil happening. So I need I
need to come down.
Yes. Yes.
By taking a character.
This one Yeah. She told me about imagine
Chinese girl in China randomly meet me
explain me about Krishna.
Yeah. So Vishnu came down as Krishna and
removed evil from earth.
Exactly. To save the world to make a
people to uh clean and to have a guard
god inside.
Yeah. People think now modernday Hindus
think that this was roughly around 5561
BC.
Wow.
Right. And they’re doing research on
this date and everything. But the third
school of sanatan dharma of Hinduism is
called shakta.
Okay. Which where we believe that god is
a woman.
Yes. Yes. I’ve heard about that.
Yeah. And all you know you see female
gods, goddesses. So shaktas believe that
the main god is a woman.
Uh like a mother. She gives birth. She’s
given birth to the universe.
Yeah. People.
Yeah. So roughly modernday Hindus are
divided into these three categories.
Uh and then uh in in Hinduism you’re
free to choose which of that you want.
If you don’t want any of those three and
you just want to learn about the world
even that’s allowed even atheism is
allowed. But the basic logic we believe
in is karma
to be honest is what I believe. Always
people ask me oh Mary what’s your
religion? Actually in China as I said
before we don’t have a religion like a
majority religion but mainly people
believe Buddhist
you know there is a a movie called
Journey to Western.
Yeah that’s Wukong Ghost of Wukong.
Yeah yeah yeah that that’s the movie
which is every single Chinese watch when
they were child
Journey to the West.
Exactly. And it’s V or like no of the
Chinese doesn’t know about it. And the
main
row inside is the UKong
and also the his master which is called
the uh we call Tang Sanjang
right.
Yeah. He went to Tanju which is India to
get the Bible
to save the
